HD Advance Hardware Error

HD Advance cant read HD... was working fine for over a year and all of a sudden, gives me a hardware error message. I have a Maxtor 80Gig HD with HD Advance 1.0..I know I could use a newer HD Advance but I dont think thats the problem. Cant switch Maxtor drive to Master on back of HD doesnt have a switch.. I beleve its on slave, but was working before regardless. Can someone help?

If you're trying to hook it up to the PS2, then reinstall the network adapter.

I have to leave mine standing up, I dont want to pay 30dollars just to make it detacted.
