I sucessfully backed up and burned my copy of Pride and Prejudice (a dual layer disc) using DVDshrink and Nero. The disc plays fine on my computer but the video skips when I play it on my Onkyo DV-CP702 DVD changer. Could it be the Memorex DVD-Rs (4.7GB), or the DVD changer because it can't handle compressed video?

It could be the memorex disc. How fast are you burning? Is this the first dvd you have burned? If not, how do the other memorexes play? Are you multitasking. Try a different movie and see if you get same problem, try another brand of disc. Memorex not the best quality but they do play. Do all burned movies skip on the Onkyo player? If you can switch to +Rs, if burner compatible, booktype them to DVD-ROMs. Your Onkyo might prefer them over-Rs.

If you want to stay with DVD-R, you must get higher quality disks and burn at no more than 4X. Verbatim, Sony, TY, MIJ Maxells all would be better choices than Memmorex.
