29... It never made much sence to me to jump out of a perfectly serviceable aircraft... but I have been known not to make sence every now and then

I'm 39 on the 23rd November. After reading some of the ages of people I feel INCREDIBLY old! Not just old, but really, really old. Not sure if I act like a 39yr old though. I still love doing 170mph plus on a GSXR750. What a rush!
Bonus is that it costs £200 for insurance. Age does have its' advantages, not many.

Fast frank, I have been after this clip fpr ages, is it the Paris peripherique? I prefer to ride fast when the road is clear, the peages in France & the autobahns in Germany are ideal for getting A to B incredibly quickly. Failing that the A1M north of Boroughbridge will suffice for a quick blast into the redline. just keep an eye out for the Rozzers!

That guy has a death wish me thinks! I did Potters bar, along M25, up M1 to Harrogate (N.Yorks) in under 2 hrs. My Gixer750 returned a healthy 26mpg!! She loved it, as did I!

Fairy tales can come true, it can happen to you
If you're young at heart
For it's hard, you will find, to be narrow of mind
If you're young at heart

You can go to extremes with impossible schemes
You can laugh when your dreams fall apart at the seams
And life gets more exciting with each passing day
And love is either in your heart or on it's way

Don't you know that it's worth every treasure on earth
To be young at heart
For as rich as you are it's much better by far
To be young at heart

And if you should survive to 105
Look at all you'll derive out of being alive
Then here is the best part
You have a head start
If you are among the very young at heart

And if you should survive to 105
Look at all you'll derive out of being alive
Then here is the best part
You have a head start
If you are among the very young at heart

I have no idea who that maniac is or was as the case may be. For some reason I think it is in Spain or Italy. I like doing all that stuff on the track. Here's a clip from EDR Performance. This is one lap at Portland International Raceway. Thats my home track. After watching the first clip this seems a lot safer.

Pulsar you remind me of the "rockers" I have read about. God bless them all. Where would we speed freaks be without them?

regor that is so true! As I get older I have to always remind myself to keep a young heart. It does set you free and lets you live your life to the fullest. Just don't let it kill ya!

I know I'm getting old because I know exactly how to relax my body to prepare for the impact as I'm sliding along on my ass at 90 mph. I always close my eyes right before I hit. I usually get up with little stars and planets spinning before my eyes. Then my bike finds me.
Kind of like "Oops, damn it, slide, slide bang!, ouch BANG! f**k that hurt- I thhhimk Ibith my tongue!"

I was trying to keep up with one of my friends, I overcooked it on a corner, & opted to go straight ahead into a stubble field. I managed to scrub 40mph off my speed, so I only had to cope with 50mph into the field. The best part was the family having a picnic in their people carrier in the entrance to the aforementioned field. My only thought was
"how much will this cost? & my poor bike!"
I managed to keep her upright & rode her out of the field through another open gate! You should have seen the look on their faces. I then got headshake as I pinnned the throttle. Life is fun!!
By the way my mate was on a 600 Bandit. I was on my Gixer750. How embarrassing! He is an incredibly competent rider & has few beach race wins under his belt.
I managed to damage myself & my CR500 to boot on my second beach race - Oh happy days!!!

Hi guys, I still like the speed thing too, but at my age I need at least 4 wheels under me. Those bugs don't taste good. Did some drag racing in the early 70's but never had the chance to try bikes. Always wanted too but didn't get around to it.

Fastfrank, did not realise you were across the water, my journey from potters bar to home is about 225miles, I spent most of the journey sat at 140mph+, not bad as the speed limit over here is only 70mph! How I never got caught is beyond me.
Probably never do that again.
