Hi Everyone! 1st posting, after lurking for over a year. Never needed to post before because all my questions were always answered in previous posts. Thanks to all of you for your diligence and dedication to helping us newbs!

I understand how to back up DVD 9 using Decrypter from reading prior posts. However all that I have read require saving the file to the HD. I am looking for posts on backing up the original DVD 9 straight to blank media (Verbatim DL) without using HD. Please provide links to postings if you know of any. (always good reading material)

I am placing the main movie in LG GSA-4040B and the blank into BenQ 1650. Decrypter refuses to allow the BenQ drive to be set as the destination. Why? (yes, I have the latest firmware)

DVD Decrypter won't do a disk to disk burn. It will only burn an ISO file from your HDD to a blank DVD.

If your looking for a solution where you can place a disk in one drive and a blank in another and walk away, I think you can use DVD Shrink and Nero. You'll also need AnyDVD running.

Place the disk to be backed up in the first drive and a blank in the burner.
Start DVD Shrink and let it analyze the disk from the first drive. Be sure the target size is set to DVD9 in Preferences. Since it's a DL backup, there will be no compression.
Click the Backup icon and select "Burn with Nero" for the device you want to do the burn on.

I think this works but I've never really tried it.

You can do what laddyboy suggested that should work. Or here are other alternatives.

You can use VSO's Blindwrite it will do a disk to disk write. There is a free trial of VSO products.

Also CloneDVD will do it if you use the write existing data and then choose your one drive as source and the other drive as the target. You will then need AnyDVD running in the background to break the protection. You can do the 21 day trial if you have not tried it.

Hi there,

Even with Blindwrite, I never do Burn On The Fly.

I always image to the HDD, then burn the image from the HDD to a media
