DVD Decrypter is a very good program. But, it's not updated anymore.
Therefore, it has trouble with some of the newer movies. It will help, if you have AnyDVD running in the background, to break the copy protection. There's a 21 day free trial, for AnyDVD from here:
http://www.slysoft.com/en/download.html

You may like using DVD Shrink better, unless you're burning double layer discs. I like Decrypter better for DL discs, and Shrink better for getting the movie, on a single layer disc.

You can get Shrink here:http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/index.html
Just click on Software Page button. If you need a guide to using Shrink, you can get that there too.
Good luck!

another good decrypter replacement is dvdfabdecrypter. it works pretty much like the old decrypter but is updated to handle newer encryptions

Heres what I use

Dell Inspiron 1300 Notebook
Intel Celeron M 1.5Ghz
512 MB RAM
40 gig HD

Sucessful Backups:NASCAR 06, The Suffering, NBA Live 06, Medal of Honor: European Assault, Atv Offroad Fury 3, MX Unleashed, Evergrace, Jedi Starfighter, Star Wars Battlefront, SNES Station with about 50 games

I agree with JVC. AnyDVD running in the background while ripping in DVDDecrypter in File Mode should help you out with most problems. DVDFabDecrypter is also a good prog. It seems to act like SuperDVDcopy in that it just goes right on with the rip regardless of errors. It does however have pretty good updates , as well as compensating for bad sectors much in the way that DVDDecrypter does as SEBREAD mentioned. You can google the prog name and easily find a download for it. Sometimes though you may have to go a step further and generate a PSL (Protected Sectors List) with something like a PGCEdit plugin. You may even need to use vobblanker, IFOEdit, FixVTS, etc. If it looks like it is moving in that direction post here again and we can point you in the right direction.

Have fun!

Some people are a lot like slinkies. They aren't really good for anything but you can't help laughing when one tumbles down the stairs.
