I've read numerous posts concerning aspi layers and am not sur that is my problem. I have a Yamaha 3200E nd no matter what software I use, a blank CD is almost always not detected. On rare occasions Nero will detect one, start a burn, and then report a track following error. Most of the time I don't get that far. I used to have Easy CD Creator on this machine and uninstalled it. When I run aspichk, it reports aspi32.sys 4.71.1,wowpost.exe 4.6, winaspi.dll 4.6 and wnaspi32.dll. I am running XP. Windows (and Nero) sees the drive and reports it running properly. When a blank CD is inserted, the drive spins and gurgles a bit, the drive light flashes and eventually stops. Any suggestions would be appreciated.
not sure if there is a problem with Easy CD Creator , i have heard of a program that even uninstalled its still on or can cause problems, i think there may be a tool to get it off but not sure?
I've replied to many users owning Yamy burners and their ongoing problems. The best advice I have is to find the 'right" firmware. Use the latest firmware and if you still have problems then consider another burner like a Lite-On LTR 52x! As Rotary posted, try different media brand (cd-r) and a different burning application.
