I hope read this anyone have DVD X Copy and have a problem recently copying dvd and more importantly considering buy DVD Next Copy program (DVD International). First I bought a DVD X Copy program from ?Compu USA? and about $150 something (Platinum version 3.2.1). It started couple of weeks ago I got problem using DVD X Copy program. When I start program I got message box poped-up said "DVD X Copy Platinum New Version Available". First I ignored message because I don't feel need upgrade my program. So I run the program as usual and finished burn task successfuly. But I couldn't run this dvd on my regular dvd player. It just couldn't read this copy dvds. That's weird. So I was trying to burn several times and different titles but same result again. I was anxious to know what's going on. First I thought title has a some kind of protection but same result after burn my old one which was done before. So I sent email DVD X Copy customer service. I've explain symptoms I hope and believe they can help this problem. No I was so innocent and stupid . These guy so cunning playing and know how to play scheme. They're playing with people like me. First I got reply email from them they says 'hey, if you have problem you got to reinstall program if you bought program you must have 3 activations, duh!'. And they not forget to mention 'We will be providing support from our international offices as long as it is needed'. I thought 'Thank got they are going to support me'. What I stupid I was. Anyway I sent email one more time. And they sent back answers which are some anti-virus and some other programs are can cause crash DVD X Copy so have to turn off uninstall programs. And says after uninstalling these, you will need to reboot, then run the ?ForceASPI? utility to resume full functionality of your machine. So I did what they suggest, sutpidly. Do not down load , do not run ?Force ASPI? program. Because of ?Force ASPI? some of your program on your computer not working properly and even crash down your computer. My case program crashed down repeatedly. I couldn't booting after crash. I was so pissed off and angry. So I decide going to solve no matter what. So I add another hard disk backed up my data and format c drive and reinstall window xp. And I did not install other program except DVD X Copy. And I authorized on online for DVD X Copy. And I got same messang box "DVD X Copy Platinum New Version Available" when I start DVD Copy. I realize there is something wrong. Anyway result was same it burn successfully but copy dvd couldn't read dvd player.

I realize this guy send some kind of interfere program and interrupt processing.

If you have same program don't bother asking help customer support you'll get "it can no longer keep up with the latest technology. As you know, 321 is no longer in business, so there will be no more upgrades. We have been anticipating this situation, blah blah .., since you are a former DVD X Copy customer, you can get it for half price."

One of my friend who studying computer program said "DVD X Copy 3.2.1." was one of best program and made so well never need to upgrade. Every send email from this guy is lie and only reason doing that is they trying to sell their new program "DVD next Copy" program.

But I recommend do not buy "DVD Next Copy" because there is no guarantee you will get the message "customer service no longer available. your copy program no longer usable and we got new copy program. you such a loyal user we'll give you half price. we always taking care of our customer. blah, blah,"

I never did such a anti, protesting before. These are only from my experience. And only reason writing this I felt so betray and I hope there is no other person wasting time like me. (it took 5 days format reinstall window and programs). And I believe people likes these they not supposed to making money like this scheme. Somebody have to tell the truth. So I?m going to help from my friends and writing to Korean, Japanese, Chinese get help and upload send email as many as I can. My English is not that good thanks for reading my long writing.

Conclusions
1. if you got message "DVD X Copy Platinum New Version Available" you are already late. Your DVD X Copy program is not going to work properly. Best way avoiding all the trouble is uninstall DVD X Copy.
2. my experience only way run DVD X Copy is get off line reinstall windows. Get authorized over the phone. Never go to online computer installed DVD Copy Program. ( in these days who using computer off line? )
3.Next time don?t buy program guy like this. ( I'm considering buying Click DVD Copy. I heard customer support much better than DVD X Copy International.)

If you have any questions or got any comments please send email.

First of all, this is a DVD Shrink forum not Xcopy forum. Forget about xcopy because it is no longer updated due to law suit and it can't copy any movies with sony or macro copy protection. If you want a good free combo, download shrink and dvd fab decrypter. If you want the best combo(my opinion) that even the xcopy moderators suggest, go to slysoft and download any dvd and clone dvd 2. Both of those progams are like 50$ ish and come with a 21 day free trial and the update all the time.

Good Luck

Hi briancho,

Even poor programs can copy a ripped DVD. Though DVD XCopy hasn't been made for almost 3 years, providing it with an unencrypted video file will allow even this out-dated program to work. The program that will do this job for you is AnyDVD. I suggest you download it and take advantage of its 21-day free trial before buying it.
Get AnyDVD here:

http://www.slysoft.com/en/anydvd.html

Secondly, you say you cannot play your discs on your standalone player. This is usually not caused by software, it is caused by using inferior DVD media. Crap media such as any Store-brand or, even name-brands like Princo, "Great AZO" and Memorex should not be used for DVD video burning. Use instead a quality media AND never burn to the disc's outer edge. "What do you mean by that ScubaPete ?" I mean that your first job is to use the controls on XCopy to set the size to 4300 MB. This will keep your burn away from the outer edge where chipping and cracking may easily occur. Also, even on the best discs, there are times when the dye application may be uneven toward the discs outer edge. Burning there may cause the disc to skip, stutter or freeze when playing.

Now, to get you back on track and burning DVD's, follow the recommendations below EXACTLY,

1. For the best in DVD media I recommend Phillips, Sony, TDK, HP, "Branded" RiData G03's, Verbatim DataLife, Verbatim DataLife Plus and media boasting "Advanced Metal AZO". Using quality media will saves you headaches in the long run and gives you a disc that will outlast the "cheap" stuff.

2. Download and install AnyDVD (once installed, it runs automatically), with this program ripping your original DVD's, XCopy won't have anything to do except copy a decrypted video file which a program as out-dated as XCopy can easily do.

3. When burning your DVD's, burn your DVD's at 4X, no faster. If you're using Taiyo Yuden OR Verbatim discs, you may consider increasing your burn speed to 8X at the outside. You don't like that recommendation ? Go ahead, burn faster than 4X, you'll only increase you chance of failure.

FINALLY, never, ever multi-task. Encoding, rendering and burning are the hardest things your PC's processor will ever do. Attempting to do other things when copying or burning a DVD slows down both operations and causes "Baulks" (stops/starts) on the video disc. Again, we have a burning failure.

The above solutions should put you right again IF you follow all of them.

Good luck,

Pete

Brian -

I had the exact same experience with DVDXCOPY. It started when I upgraded from WIN 2000 to WIN XP. Now, DVDXCOPY allows me to burn a copy on a DVD-R blank. It plays on my computers, but not on a DVD player machine - error message is INCORRECT DISC.

Hi peter48,

The error you report is again, one that is common when using a low-grade media. If you read my post and have followed the advice contained there, I suggest you try the following ~ Head on down to your local Radio Shack, Circuit City or other like place, taking your burned DVD with you. If you are using a decent media, I believe you'll find that almost all of the new players on the market will play your disc. Older players have trouble playing many of the newer disc and, when those newer disc are of a crappy quality, pple experience even more difficulty. Using a good grade disc when doing DVD video work makes all the difference. Those pple who believe that all DVD disc are the same AND that working with DVD's are the same as working with CD?s need to re-evaluate their stand.

Let me know how you make out using decent quality media on a newer player. That software was, in its day, 3-years ago when it was actively manufactured, fairly good and, truth be told, the software itself has never been the cause of a successfully burned DVD not playing on a standalone player. Though DVD XCopy was, and is finicky and didn't "get along" with a lot of other software, its only current problem is that it cannot rip current commercial DVD encryptions. Again, the software cannot be the cause of your dilemma, you need to lQQk elsewhere for your problem's origin ~ begin with your media ~

Cheers,

Pete

dvd x copy sucks.First off, it costs too much.Second, it leaves an ugly nag screen at the beginning of the movie with a watermark to prevent copying the same disc. And their tech support sucks as well. There are better programs on the internet.

Is it crap or is it memorex?

@peanuts2

There is a program that you can install called 321 Gone, that will get rid of the nag screen.

http://psidoc0.tripod.com/

Also, I have redone all my 321 Xcopy backups, and used VobBlanker to get rid of the nag screen and then burned them. This way they were not re-encoded so there was no more quality loss.

dvd next copy forget it...,go this direction..

AnyDVD works in the background to automatically remove the copy protection of a DVD movie as soon as it's inserted into the drive, allowing you then to backup the movie using a DVD backup tool such as CloneDVD and CloneDVD mobile. You can also remove the RPC region code, thereby making the movie region free and viewable on any DVD player and with any DVD player software.

AnyDVD is capable of removing unwanted movie features, including subtitles and prohibition messages such as copyright and FBI warnings. It also allows you to launch an external application whenever you insert or remove a disc, or prevent 'PC-friendly' software from automatically launching when you insert a video DVD.

Decryption is not all that AnyDVD offers. You can control the drive speed of your DVD drive, allowing you to reduce the noise level when watching movies on your PC. You can even adjust the display frequency of your monitor for both NTSC and PAL displays.

But AnyDVD doesn't just stop at DVDs. It also decrypts protected audio CDs to allow you to copy them.

Features

* Works automatically in the background
* Removes encryption (CSS) and region code (RPC) from DVDs
* Removes analogue copy protection (Macrovision)
* Removes features such as forced subtitles and warnings
* Decrypts without the need to save the data onto your hard-disk
* Decrypts 'on the fly'
* Prevents automatic launching of 'PC-friendly' software on video DVDs
* Allows adjustment of your monitor refresh rate for both NTSC and PAL monitors
* Allows execution of external programs on disc insertion and removal
* Allows speed control of your DVD drives
* Compatible with all DVD media
* Works with all DVD-drives, regardless of region code
* Works with all DVD copying, such as CloneDVD, and all DVD player software
* Works transparently for the operating system: DVDs can be shared over the network and copied with the command prompt or with Windows Explorer, etc.
* Proven to be stable and fast and does not require an ASPI driver
* Features AnyCDDA: play, copy and rip protected audio CDs

NOW YE NEED A PROGRAM TO RIP THE MOVIE
