This PS2 is going out the window if I can't get it working, it's driving me bananas!! Ok, DMS4 Ezi Lite & Maxtor 120GB Hard Drive I use WINHIIP to format it and put a couple of games on it (Pro Evo 5 & Brian Lara Cricket) is it easiest for me to burn a disc with HDLoader7c on it and boot up or will the below method work to actually put the loader on the HD.
Step 1 - I assume you have flashed your chip with Toxic BIOS v1.3
Step 2 - Install DMS HDD Explorer with HDLoader v7c
...Here's how...
Step 3 - Download WINRAR here
Step 4 - Install WINRAR using on screen prompts
Step 5 - Download the DMS Explorer file here
Step 6 - Click on the DMS Explorer with HDL v7.0 (as a WINRAR archive)
Step 7 - Click "Extract to" icon and designate a location
Step 8 - Open Nero or Alchohol 120, choose "Burn image to disk", when prompted choose the .cue file that is in the location you just extracted it to. Burn as slowest speed.
Step 9 - Instert burned disk into PS2, it will start automatically, it should give a message like "Installation complete, restart PS2" when complete.
Step 10 - Turn OFF PS2, REMOVE DISK (VERY important) turn PS2 back on holding the START button, this will boot in Dev2 or your HDD. You should see DMS Explorer heading.
Step 11 - Put disk back in, wait till you hear it spin up then click "Install Application" It will install aplications, if it did not, hit eject, then put disk back in and try again once the disk spins. When finished it will say "Applications Installed" You now have HDL and LaunchELF on your HDD.
Step 12 - Transter HDL fom HDD to MC using LaunchELF

Step 13 - Boot PS2 holding START button
Step 14 - Choose LaunchELF
Step 15 - Make a shortcut key for Filebrowser
-After LuachELF has loaded, press SELECT
-New menu appears, move down and highlight "O" and then press O on controller.
-New menu appears, move down and highlight MISC/ press O, and select Filebrowser.
-Go back to main menu and choose OK (near bottom)
-Now click "O" to open Filebrowser
-This is what you should see:
MC 0:/
MC 1:/
HDD 0:/
CDFS :/
MASS :/
Step 16 - Move down to HDD0:/, hit O
Step 17 - Move down to _boot/, hit O
Step 18 - Move down to HDLOADERNTSC, hit O
Step 19 - Move down to HDLOADERNTSC.ELF
Step 20 - Hit R1
Step 21 - Move down to Rename, hit O
NOTE: I am doing it this way cause I was not able to move it first then rename it, so I rename it, copy it, then rename it back.
Step 22 - Change the name of HDLOADERNTSC.ELF to BOOT.ELF using the on-screen key pad. (MAKE SURE TO USE CAPS)
Step 23 - Now hit R1 again.
Step 24 - Choose COPY using O again. It will say at top "Copied to Clipboard"
Step 25 - Hit "TRIANGLE" till you see this again:

MC 1:/
HDD 0:/
CDFS :/
MASS :/
Step 26 - Move down to MC0:/, hit O
Step 27 - Hit R1, choose NEW DIR and name it "BOOT/" (MAKE SURE TO USE CAPS)
Step 28 - Move down and select BOOT/ using O
Step 29 - Hit R1, choose PASTE using O
Step 30 - Now go back to HDD0:/ and rename BOOT.ELF back to HDLOADERNTSC.ELF
Step 31 - Turn off PS2
Step 32 - Turn on Ps2 holding SQUARE (Load Configuration Menu)
Step 33 - Set Default Boot Mode to MC Dev.olution
Step 34 - Hit START to save, then turn off PS2 when prompted.
Step 35 - Turn on PS2.... Boots HDLoader v7c
Someone must know the answer to all this as I've been playing for 3 weeks trying to get it going :(
