lot of shows on DVD-R ?

Is there a way no matter how long it would take, To put a lot of video on a DVD-R... like TV Shows, Or movies...
Just like we do with MP3's on a CD.
are they like MP4 or some thing...
Ok I have Nero and a lot Of video.My own DVD and torrents (for my DVD that will not let me copy them right of the back)... so yes the torrents i have i own, so there...
But the thing is ,Nero will only let me put like two or three of my shows on a DVD-R at a time and it take a long a** time for it to get done.and some files it will not add
So is there a way to put 4,5,maybe even 6, shows on a DVD-R.
and is there a program out there better than Nero that might do the things i need...
I could use the help...

maybe you should have a look at DL media (dual layer)Nero can acommadate you as long as your burner supports dual layer.The amount of episodes will be greatly increased

The problem is that you are trying to take an MP4 and make it MP2 for DVD. MP4 is more advanced and produces smaller files than MP2, so the MP2 files will be bigger unless you use a low bitrate. Automated programs don't let you decide the bitrate, so you have no control over what bitrate is used, and therefore no control over the size of the files produced.
The easiest way to do what you want is to get a dvd player that plays divx/xvid for $50-$75. This way you can fill the entire disc with as many files as will fit (just like an MP3 disc) and they'll all play on your TV without converting anything.

I use ConvertXtoDVD and i put on 4 episodes, but i can put 8 eps if it's on medium quality and fast encoding.
I suggest you check it out.

Thanks a lot i will look up that ConvertXtoDVD thing...but i don't have mp4 or mp2 ...i was saying is that what i need...
i have AVI,wmv, thing like that...
is the ConvertXtoDVD something that will let me put a lot of viedos...
and i know about dual layer just never got one...
now is there something out there better then Nero for makeing ny dvd...maybe even faster...

if you have avi's then just buy the DivX player.Burn your avi's as data then you will be able to get as many as the disc can hold
as suggested by : Jigen
convert x to dvd will convert your avi's to that of mpeg2 which in essence is the dvd movie format.Once in this format Nero will reconize the file type as one to be burnt to dvd.

ConvertXtoDVD CAN burn AVIs. If you have .avi's it will convert them to a DVD type. Then from there you can burn to your DVD and watch them on your DVD player.
Again, ConvertXtoDVD can convert AVI's.
After you convert like 10 shows, you can use DVD Shrink to shrink it to 4.5 gig DVD...
I did that yesterday, I put 11 shows and converted and it was like 6 gig and i shrunk it down to a 4.5 and burnt it..

that may be the case but i like to add my own menus etc after the conversion .Convert x to dvd does a nice conversion and TMPGEnc dvd author just tidies it up with menus etc , before i burn with nero

I think the easiest method in my experience is the player that plays DivX. I got a very nice DVD player for Xmas this year and I was pleased to find it played DivX. I can now burn movies to a CD and watch them in my DVD player. They aren't DVD quality, but they get the job done and dont take away from the movie.

even though players like those are reasonably cheap, not many people use them as they arent advertised greatly, so they go down the road of conversion to get there projects done.
Me well the end of the financial year is almost upon us so i think if i get a reasonable return this year, i might actually buy one as i have a lot of avi's that i dont want to convert
