I've had a lot of trouble finding a reliable DVD recorder, with the features I want (e.g. record/play +RW), that lasts past 18-24 months. Came across a DVD/CD Rewrite from LG at Sam's Club. Does it actually do a good job of copying DVDs and CDs? The price was $64. I'm thinking maybe this and good DVD player would make me happy. Any suggestions?

Checkout this website for DVD Burners, etc. They are very cheap and have some great stuff. I bought a NEC Burner and paid $41.00 for it and it works great. They have other brands, such as Sony, Lite-On, etc. I buy alot of other things from them. They have a 800 # Good luck..................

Thanks dogman5 for info. Does the DVD rewrite work this way: put in DVD blank disc, connect cable to DVD player, ht play on DVD player and hit record on DVD rewrite? Seems too simple. Tigerdirect has a NEC burner for $10. Can it be worth trying?

Second question. Can you rewrite movies from TV channels to DVD rewrite?

I think Dogman was confused as to what you want. You want a recorder, not a DVD writer or "burner" as it's more often called. There are some cheapo ones out there that work ok. Liteon makes a few, cyberhome, LG, but I have no idea how long they'll last. If you record tons of discs on there, it will certainly wear out faster than recording 2 or 3 a week.
As for your other question, yes you can just put in a disc and record. DVD recorders work pretty much the same way as a VCR does. There are some differences for sure, but if you've used a VCR you should be able to figure this out pretty quickly.
