If you have ever used Psix, you know that when you launch a game, it goes DIRECTLY to the game and doesn't even play the gameboot. I like that; it goes into the game much faster. Is there anyway to dummy the gameboot w/ a 0kb file so it will just skip over the gameboot and go right into the game like in Psix? If I did this, what are the chances of bricking my PSP? (Syscalls would look for the gameboot and if it were still there, but dummied, I think that would be ok. I think I would have a problem if I ERASED the gameboot, but I only wanna dummy it.)

What do you guys think?

Sounds good on paper but not sure practically. Give it a try.

I would, but I don't want to brick my PSP. I don't know. It's really tempting. ahhh... what it would be like to "boot the gameboot out of the game"... LOL

Actually, now that I think of it, I don't think anything bad could happen. I mean, at the very worst, I would imagine the PSP would go to look for the gameboot, and if it didn't work w/ a 0kb file, (Try removing completely? you would have to use FA++) then you may get a cyclical redundancy check or some "Failed" notice. I think it just might work. But then again, I thought I was going to get the Street Supremacy.iso to work w/ my hacking skills and couldn't do it. I dunno. I'll give it a try and let you guys know if I have to buy a new PSP or not.

I guess I'm willing to risk everything. If I come back w/ good news, I guarantee EVERYONE and their mothers will want to do this. Why the hell would you wanna change your gameboot when you could remove it completely and load games even faster?!

:po:

EDIT: Also, there is a good chance it could work as you are not removing something from startup. You are removing something that you use once the PSP is already up and running... so if it crashes, you'll still be able to reboot and replace it... YEA!

Yeah exactly your not editing any needed files. As long as you make a backup or have at least one working gameboot youll be fine!

just tried w/ FA++. You can't delete it from the flash. So I think the only way to do this is by copying a 0kb file... I'll try later as I'm at work now.
