I know alot... but not even I can figure this one out!

but..

Okay, I had to replace my PSP LCD... it was cracked. After I got my new LCD in, I tried to put it in but it didn't work. So I had to then solder the 0.5 Amp... it worked! But when I try to charge my psp, I couldn't use it... the light would just turn orange and the screen would be black.. blank!

So now, worse things have happened. Now my psp won't charge, my psp backlight won't work... and... I don't know.

Can anyone tell me what that itty-bitty black chip does that't right next to the 0.5A do? Maybe I accidently got solder on it but I really can't think right now!

And if I try to bridge the 0.5 Amp now, the psp won't power on.

By the way.... the lcd works, but not the backlight, and like I said, it doesn't charge. I really don't want to throw this board away! It's fw v2.00!!!

I honestly feel that someone with alot of electronic expeiernce can do this. My expierece is sadly only about 70% compared to 100%!

Any how, here is a video I uploaded showing that the psp won't charge (Probably won't help much, huh?):

Sorry for double posting, I really am...

Thanks and please help me get my baby running, reply people!

Ublade did this crap just happen. You were just talking about the custom boot, and the site.
Well you can use my warranty to replace your psp. Go to any store that sells psp. Prefferably best buy, or circuit city they don't care about condition when returned or check serials. Buy a new psp, and if you want your 2.0 swith the mother boards, or just wait it out a few more weeks or less for the mod chip, and take a new psp from the store and just install the mod chip then to have what ever. Throw your old psp in the new ones box, and return it close to the 30 day period for its up so it looks like it had some use and u didnt want it. Good luck.

In fact I think we would be fooling our selves if we have a community this large, and did not realize that there are some enemies present.

Nope guys.... the fat port where you install the lcd is completely gone. If I was a pro at soldering, I could actully get it back... but I'm not.

I don't have the significant funds to buy another PSP right now... but what Ima do is try to get another motherboard.... and then get the Undeliuted Platnium modchip later.

Much thanks to everyone.

I knew what I was doing.

Everyone makes mistakes.

Nah, Ima just buy a brand new PSP and then get the Undiluted Platnium modchip. That's better.

Dude! I have a spare LCD sitting around... how much are you willing to pay for it???

And no, it's easy. There is a fat port for the LCD and a skinny port for the backlight, however, my fat port is comptely wasted...

(My motherboard was all messed up anyways, it caught on fire too!)

But yeah, if you still are thinking about buying an LCD, becuase I may just get rid of it.

Right, If you have but TOO Much solder on your port you will short the bad boy out, so remove the excess using Solder tape or a solder sucker.
And with ref to "burning the blck chip" unless you kept the iron there for a couple of mins then you should be fine. Desolder all your work. Carefully. And look for 'accidental' shorts created by the solder. ( more often than not this causes most problems.)
As the backlight is not functioning you may have damaged the smally connection - or not connected it fully, again, recheck your work.
To change a creen is easy just very very fiddly ( isuffer shakes so its a right Tw£t for me)
Hope this helps if not check out llama.com as he has a good section on repairing F89ked up consoles
