just wondering if afterdawn could ever put up a gfx section so people can post/ review art work? it would be cool and it would bring more people to this already big forum ^_^... just thought i'd ask cause i liked the idea personally.

thats what i thought. lots of forums get members for gfx display and showcase. that could get afterdawn more member, and get people more acctive :)

im feeling extremely sad at the moment, i just read rav's sig and it says dvdback is the go to guy for sigs now, im the washed up beach whale :( (OMG a tear actually just fell down my face)
oh well it was bound to happen since i dont really hang around anymore.
il take my ip address somewhere esle :D lol
oh well, dvdback has gotten really good and i cant wait to see him get even better.

What are you talking about..Phantom69......Why don't you and DVDback23 team up or something and create sigs for people...You both made great sigs...And I like the userbars you make on the userbars site...Very creative........
Hey i think i need a sig,if you don't mind....I don't care really what the theme is on it...But as long as it has darker colors and my nick

I don't think that is the main purpose of Afterdawn......The purpose of Afterdawn forums is to get help with Tech Related questions......And anyways it has of half a million members...It has to be one of the most populated forums on the net.

You're right...this is a tech forum, but not everything that goes on here is tech related. We even have the section for Bands! So, why not a little gfx section?

That is simply because we own and operate a service called MP#Lizard.com which is an indie band site. We'll eventually launch own forums for it and will move the band stuff there.
But we'll monitor the requests for new forums and will act if we see that forums suitable for this type of chat ("all other topics") get "enough" posts about a specific subject and will launch a new forum then. We've always done that -- first, we tell everybody to post their questions to a non-specific-to-anything forum room if the topic doesn't have its own forum room. And if there are enough posts about that topic (usually in thousands), we'll launch a new forum room for the topic. We rarely launch a "blank" forum room and see if it gathers traffic, it usually never works.

Instead of a whole section for graphics, would something like a sticky in this section be more feasible?
Just curious, because this is something that intrigues me. I also understand that there are graphic forums for this kind of stuff, but they don't possess the other areas already here.

I know what you're saying....it's just a thought!
The threads that were created were very popular, it's just that you get some kids that take it too overboard, like having 4 sigs, and it's stuff like that causing them to be closed. The only downside to a gfx section would be that it would need to be highly moderated so that the unfortunate ones don't take it too far.
Either way, doesn't bother me that much. As you can see from my sig, I do most of my work through PM's...it'd just be nice to have a general place to see other people's work.

i was just over at a gfx forum,there are meny out there
seems a ton of members are having a good time..50000 post in a board called {Finished Art}
maybe one should be tried here..or a thread made as a sticky..

well one of the largest problems that could arise is that if somebody says that a gfx work is crap, the person may have a little biatchfit and hold resentment. and a lot of use remember how some of the last resentments have turned out, little post wars
so please be weary that the forum is tryig to be as user friendly as possible and we all get along :D
