As you can see in my sig. I'm a MI user, but you are right the CC is the only chip at the moment that lets you play backups online, and if you are big fan of online games (I'm not) and don't like the idea of having to patch the games yourself, then yes I'd go with the CC.

Well, unfortunately like I said, I don't play online games... but take a look at this thread: http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/291526

I'll let you decide if its complicated or not, cos at the end of the day, you will be the one that needs to do it. If you don't like what you see in that thread, then go with the crystal chip, otherwise matrix infinity or DMS4 will be a better option in my opinion :)

I also do not play online with my PS2, just a little here and there with Xbox.
http://www.teammodders.com/viewtopic.php?t=120
but there is a guide so you can see how it is done and determine how hard it looks.
The Crystal chip you will need to install the hacked firmware for it to auto patch the games for online play.
I think that the DMS4 and Matrix Infinity will follow with a firmware release that will also do this just to keep up. But as of right now they have not.
