If i use the Slide Card and i damage the disk tray motor, and i want the Flip Top, do i have to buy a whole new disk tray and the flip-top? or could i just buy the Flip-Top Cover and open my PS2 and install it? And how hard is the Flip-Top Cover installation for a fat PS2?
I really doubt you'll damage the motor using the slide card method, if you do and decide to go with a flip top, you disable the drive mechanism anyways, so you have nothing to worry about there.
Flip top is very easy to install btw. There are tons of guides available too.
You never have to eject your tray again if you use the lid and your tray motor is broken. Just remember to change discs when your console is shut off, or when you have to swap discs for a backup.
