Hi

Not sure if the right groups/thread.

I would like to know if I get a secondhand ps2 slim ( black or silver )
can I just swap the lasers over. As my silver ps2 slim laser is going & has a mod chip in it..?

Is there any versions of ps2's to avoid or better to get ?
& how would I know which version is which..

or should I just buy a laser & were from !!

my silver is SCPH-70003

you have to make sure that the laser in the one you get is the same model as the one you have.
Just search "PS2 Repair" and you can find plenty of sites that will have the laser.
you know the version by the number it has. Like SCPH-70009 or something like that. You take that number and search for a PS2 Version chart and look it up.
The old V7 was one of the best model they made.
