Swap Magic DVD disk read error

hey all
i can't get my swap magic dvd to boot in my ps2. i always get a "disk read error." However, the Swap Magic CD does work and i have been trying to somehow boot my dvd backups form that cd but have failed miserably. i have booted the Swap Magic CD, refreshed the TOC size with an original DVD and put in my dvd backups, but they all say that the disc is invalid and not in ps2 format.
is there any way i can boot my swap magic dvd?
if not, is there any way that i can boot my backup dvds from the Swap Magic CD? i am using dvd decrypter and Memorex DVD-R's. my PS2 is v7.

i followed what you said, but once i put in my original PS2 DVD (MGS3) and press x it says "error validating the disc" and returns me to the previous screen. it's strange because it says PS2 DVD in the bottom left. this happens for all my ps2 originals. nothing pops up that says "put in the DVDR by EA method." And the the disc inside keeps spinning. i don't know what to do.
oh yeah, also when i press TRIANGLE in CD Loader, it acts as if i pressed EJECT. the disk tray pops out. i don't know if that happens when you reset the laser.

ok i finally got it to work :)
i had to use cogswap instead of cd loader, and it finally worked. yay! thanks for all your help everybody.
