I have a Sony DRU-720A burner (actually a Lite-On) and I recently downloaded the Booktyping utility to change the booktype to DVD-ROM. My problem is that it won't let me save the settings. It's not clickable in other words. I know that thru Nero it works, because I mostly have VTS folders to draw from and when burned thru Nero a disc shows as DVD-ROM thru Identifier. However, whenever I try to burn an ISO thru Decryptor it says DVD+R thru Identifier. Do you guys that always burn something as DVD-ROM always use Nero instead of Decryptor?

I don't think that the stock Sony firmware will save this setting. You can get different/better firmware that will allow you to set the drive to automatically bitset the disc no matter which burning app you use.

You canset the booktyping to DVD-ROMs for all your +R/RW disks and it shouldn't matter what burning software you use! The Booktyping would be set into the burner! Soooooo everytime you burn a +R/RW disk it will show up as a DVD-ROM! You can use DVDInfo Pro to set booktyping for your drive:



if your drive can be booktyped then you can do it with DVDInfo Pro!

Like I mentioned before, I'm not sure the stock Sony firmware lets you make the change permanent.
