Your links to the pics seem to have been removed. What version build of Playstation is it, and what version. PS2/PsTwo?

The Other.

I don't know what version built it is. I do know it came with the Gt3 bundle pack.

K, looks like a v4 because the batterey is on the side of the dvd rom, anyways, that ribbon cable in pic #1 is the eject/power cable, you have to insert that into the connector on the mobo, underneath the dvd rom, it will be on the underside of the mobo, and that cable will only fit one connector, so you can't miss it. I can't really make out what that is that you have lying on top of the open dvd rom in pic #2 though :/ Any better close up pic of it? Anyways here is a disassembly guide, just do the reverse of the instructions (read backwards) and you should be all good http://www.konsolenprofis.de/technik/E-ps2-v4-disassembly.php
I still can't make out what that is in pic #2 though.

i think the blue part is the tape that keeps it in place. so you may have to use some other tape that sticks well and puyt it on the opposute side of the ribbon from where the circuits will meet between the ribbon and PS2. Something the will not mess with it like electrical tape. Then that should be able to hold it in place.
