i have seen some questions linked to this topic but no easy answers. I am really really new to all this so please use the easiest explanation is you can help me out. I live in japan but i'm from the uk. my uk dvds are region 2 like japan, but pal not ntsc. i have a dvd player that can play all region and both systems but the japanese tv seems to only want ntsc. i was hoping to convert either the pal dvd into a ntsc dvd or same thing into vcd. I only have a dvd player and cd burner on my laptop so i assume making a dvd is out of question. i have downloaded the easyvcd software as well as the dvdripper / dvd2avi / tmpgenc software and i am trying to learn as much as possible about them. problem is mainly understanding what is possile. i have ripped the vobs and made into d2v files BUT to make the vcd i am supposed to use the informaiton I noted down about the dvd - which means inputting it as a pal dvd when i want it to be made into ntsc. at what point can i tell the software to make it a ntsc version??????? is there another way??? (by the way, i am also trying to put some downloaded mpegs in vcd format but the audio is screwed - what did i do wrong??? - using easyvcd. i really really appreciate ANY help you can give me but remember I dont understand it all that well yet, thanks again!!!

I've seen this question asked a few times now but always without a successful conclusion.

If you find a work around perhaps you'd be kind enough to post as I'm sure there are other people still searching for an answer to NTSC/PAL conversion.

I have no problems playing either myself , both TV and DVD player can handle most things.
