Hi
basic question .... i have dvdplayer bought in UK designed for pal, but region free and i can use it in japan now with all dvds but only ntsc (as thats tv systsem here) depsite it being made for UK which is pal ... so it hsould be able to play ntsc and pal but isnt - is that cos japan tv cant do playback of pal??? i was gonna try to copy dvds onto laptop to convert to ntsc so i can play them, but is there a way i can do soemthing to the dvdplayer?? or is it really the TV giving me the problem - where is my problem, whats my best bet (i ahve no money so wanna do all this thru software if possible) - cheers

There should be a button on your DVD player which switches from Pal to NTSC and back.

no button on the sony - says in manual you can hold down on/off button with STOP button to switch but this doesnt work .... called a sony helpline who said it should be automatic so its my tv thats crap .... so now i have region 2 dvds in japan (OK) but in pal (not OK) so cant watch them - nay easy solutions?? any quick n easy ways to record a ntsc vcd from pal dvd?
