Alright, I tried to make a backup of Underworld Evolution following Alkohol's guide:
http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/334154
Everything went great until I popped the disk into my dvd player and I couldn't get past the 2nd scene. I tried to skip through with the scene skip button, and it just froze up, so I tried to just use plain fast forward (didn't work either). It stops where she's checking the breaker box in the 2nd scene of the movie, I don't have a clue as to why.
Anyone have any ideas of what might be wrong?
By the way, I did read the other underworld subjects. And I noticed that when I look at the bottom of the disk it looks like it only burned at the middle and at the very edge of the disk. This is driving me crazy. I hate losing dvd'd (they're too expensive to waste, LOL)

Depending on your media, and your DVD drive, firmware could be an issue too.
We need more info! lol
Latest AnyDVD to rip > VOBB to blank the unwanted on a DVD > Shrink to compress > ImgBurn to burn = Never starting a thread asking how to backup a movie

I'm not exactly sure what you mean. I know it was burning at 8x. I was using DVDFab then VobBlanker then I used shrink.
But what exactly did you want to know?

tdk is the maker of the disk. They are 8x disks, I should've gotten 16x I think. Is there anyway to make this work with the disks I have?

Either you're missing a step with VobBlanker and or it's the media you're using. I've just finished backing up all problematic movies/dvds (i.e. Underworld Evolution, Running Scared, Freedomland, Firewall, etc.) using my usual FREE method (DVDFAB Decrypter + VobBlanker), it worked flawlessly. So far I don't have any playback issues whatsoever.
Good luck to all and happy burning.
