Hello- I have a region 2 PAL movie that I am trying to re-burn as region 1 NTSC. When I burned it using CloneDVD, it burned perfectly region-free but it was still in the PAL format.
What I tried next was to upload the burnt DVD to my C drive. After this was completed, I created a new DVD movie using those files and working with Nero.
I am currently trying to compress the movie with DVD Shrink, but here are my problems:
1. I have no other audio tracks to disable
2. I don't know how to eliminate certain features to save space (I wanted to keep everthing, but I suppose I don't need a trailer).
3. At Automatic Compression, everything is already at the lowest percentage possible..
DVD is 8.72 MB in NTSC format. Thanks, Kegan

kzm007 ,
Welcome to the forum. I take it you converted the files from PAL to NTSC. If you did what program did you use? To eliminate a trailer you can use Vobblanker. Set the target size in Shrink to Custom 4350 and see if that helps. You can also Shrink it to HD and then take those files and Shrink it again and burn to the DVD

Thanks for the welcome, Car.Mike. I converted (or so I thought) using Nero StartSmart). When I got the disc burnt (again through Nero) I checked the it with AnyDVD, which said it was still in PAL video format. I had it compressed with the trailer, so I won't need to remove it after all. I didn't think it would be so hard LOL! My problem started with a bad deal on eBay, where the seller said they were region 1, and the discs were as well. The DVD didn't look burnt (it had a silver bottom), but I'm off-topic... Thanks for any help you can give! Kegan

OK, but I also have two region one movies, I want to Shrink onto a single disc. I shrink the first and burn it to the disc, but neither CloneDVD or Nero will burn the second movie, because there is data already present on the DVD.
There is plenty of room for both it appears, and I am using a DVD+RW. What am I doing incorrectly? Thanks, Kegan

kzm007 ,
Never tried it w/ Clone or Nero but I have w/ DVD Shrink. You need to add both movies to the same disk before burning.

Thanks, but I've decided to just burn seperate discs. Saves me a hassle. I will, use the guide for my boxsets. Thanks again- Kegan

I *think* I read in a guide on the site, rob1026, that there is an option to burn DVD to DVD. I hope so, because I have a lot of PAL DVDs I bought in England that I want to see (they were SO cheap!).

Rob1026,
You change the frame rate
kzm007,
If you are in the US then you will have a problem viewing them unless your DVD Player will play PAL format and NTSC format disk. Cyberhome makes one that is about $50.00 and I think Wal-Mart carries it. It is just much easier to get a DVD player that will play both formats than trying to convert as you could then have audio problems as you either are adding or subtracting frames.
