Hi, I know this is going to have some really simple anwer and I'm going to look like an idiot, but I'll ask anyway. I'm using DVD Shrink 3.2 (which is set to DL size), and Nero 6.3 which has a bar going all the way up to 8 gigs and Memorex DVD+R DL :( , but I can't get it to work. I have an 8X lightscribe drive on my HP laptop and the drivers are up to date. I get the error message that the blank media is not large enough to fit the files. Any suggestions?

Hi TruthIs1
Try this update your Nero to 6.6.0.18 (last version of 6 to autoburn w/ Shrink). Here's some links:
Package 1
http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/Nero-6.6.0.18_no_yt.exe

Package 2 (Recode & Vision)
http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/NVE-3.1.0.21_no_yt.exe

Another option is to rip in iso mode w/ dvd decrypter then burn w/ dvd decrypter picking the .mds file. Here's a link if you need decrypter:

Have you been able to burn dual layer before?

If you're backing up a commercial DVD, the best method imo is to use DVD Decrypter.

Under the Mode menu set the mode to ISO Read
Rip the disk to your hard disk drive
Under the Mode menu set the mode to ISO Write
Select the MDS file associated with the ripped ISO file and burn

Of course if the disk has any newer structural copy protection, then AnyDVD needs to be running in the background.

Memorex DL media is not the best although it will work in most DL burners if the firmware is up to date. The best +R DL media is Verbatim, hands down.

That's an older version of Nero which may be part of the problem. Update to Nero 6.6.0.18, a stable version, which can be downloaded at the site below. I don't recommend updating to the most recent version of Nero 6 however.

You also need to be sure your burner can booktype +R DL media to DVD-ROM to ensure playability in your players.
