It's common getting read errors while reading the image of Battlefield 1942 (Safedisc 2.x) cd protected. Depending upon the name brand of your burner will determine if you need emulation or not. Be sure that you use the Safedisc datatype 2 profile while reading& burning this tough cd protection.
Asus K8N nVidia nForce3 Pro 250 GB, Athlon 64 3200+, Hitachi 80 gig SATA 150, Corsair XMS 1 gig PC4000, ATI Radeon Saphire 9600 Pro (256 DDR), Windows XP Pro (64 Bit),Lite-ON SOHD 167T,, Plextor PX-712SA,BenQ 1640.
Emulation means you play the backups with "additional measures". Look in Alcohol settings (emulation) and you'll see ignore media type, bad sector and laserlock emulation(others). I read about this game and if you when update (patch), it changes the Safedisc cd protection but I can't remember to what version. Use ClonyXXL to scan the "original" protected cd. Can you play the backup from your burner or dvd\cd-rom? What brand name burner are you using?
