Was this a full disc backup or reauthor backup? Sounds like you may need to use the AEC controls and Deep Analysis in DVD Shrinks quality controls, and maybe reduce your burn speed to half the rated speed of your media.

You may also want to look at the type of media that you are using. Use quality media and you will see an improvement in the quality of your backups.

Loco, nice sig!

i had not problems with this movie. decrypter/recode2/imgburn.

Nero Recode2 or Shrink using deep analysis and AEC/ fabdecrypter or anydvd running in the background/ IMGBurn to burn/main movie only mode= perfect.

Backed up Firewall with Shrink only, had no trouble what so ever. I didn't do a full disc backup, only main movie and 5.1 surround. Maybe this is why ??? Not complaining though. later scott

ibcruzn,

Did you burn all the way to the outer edge of the disk? If so, that may be the problem. You generally need to set the target size to 4350 to avoid burning to the outer edge where bad things can start to happen. :)

I reauthored it and used 5.1 surround. It looks like the burn went all the way to the outside. Scott 0673 how did you back it up by using Shrink only?

Hello ibcruzn.

If you have Nero or DVD Decrypter installed, DVD Shrink can link and burn with either.

In DVD Shrink, under the Edit menu select Preferences... and then under the Preferences tab select "Custom" under the target size menu and then enter 4350 in the MB size box. This will keep the disk size small enough to prevent burning to the outer edge where you're having problems. Also use good quality media like Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden, and Made in Japan labeled Fuji and Sony disks for best results.

I am using good media (Verbatim), but my size was set to 4464. I am going to change the size to 4350 and see if that helps. I don't use Nero, I use CopyToDVD to burn. Will let you know how it turns out. Thanks laddyboy

actually go down to 4300, as you are really to close to the edge of the disc where the dye is most uneven and this area is where the most errors occur and cause you coasters
