The choices are

Canon powershot s2i
Kodak P850
Kodak Z612

I like the canon because it uses normal batteries which is handy for when you are not near a plug socket. And has good features. Bad side of the canon is the dreaded E18 error that plagues all the zoom lenses or motors. And bad customer service.

The kodaks use battery packs which is a pain i would have to buy an extra and they take 3 hours to charge. The kodaks refuse to fire the flash when the batteries are low. They are more reliable than the canon which seems to be very delicate.

All three a lot of the same specs.
Canon is £238
Kodak P850 £200
Kodak Z612 £250 (latest model)

Any input would be great

See ya later

According to Cnet, the Z850... Pricey for a 5-megapixel camera; trouble handling highlights; various problems with photo quality.

The Z612... Noticeable fringing and image artifacts; ISO 800 not available at full resolution; no manual white balance.

notice that these are only the Bad comments. I think that the Z612 is the best bet. I am not sure about the Canon.

not on your list, but try the fuji f30 , you could probably get a used f10 on ebay for real cheep. The fuji is nice and small takes 500 shots per charge and is good outside and inside

I think that the kodaks are pretty good. Ive got one myself and its really good with ease of use and battery life despite what some people think.
