I've got a Magic 3.1 modchip in my PS2...When I first got it, it played all of my imports and back ups. But for the past couple fo months its doesnt play any of my backs ups..only two of them (The two I played the most) I am constantly trying to play the backups that I KNOW work on it, becuase when first got my system modded, I tried every back up I had, and played them each until I beat them. Now it's a year later and only two of the acually work. As for the others I get the red screen saying "Please Insert PS2 format disc" I have tried everything that comes to my mind...please any help would be greatly aprreciated. Thanks

Your laser is dying - try cleaning the lens, if that doesn't help you could also try adjusting it - http://arstechnica.com/articles/paedia/hardware/ps2.ars/1 . If that still doesn't work you'll need a new laser
