I need to know how to rip the audio from a dvd so I compress to mp3. Do I need to rip the video as well, and if so can I rip the dvd and compress into a file that Premiere can read and then separate the audio? I need so much help!

Lots of different ways to do this but here is one that I just tried:
Use FlaskMPEG and load up the media file (vob or mpg).
Select Run then Extract Audio to .wav.
This will create a WAV file. After that is done, you will then need to convert to MP3.
Easiest method is to download BladeEnc.
Just extract the BladeEnc.exe from the downloaded zip file and then drag the WAV file onto the BladeEnc.exe.
That's it!
