avi join problem

I have some avi files and want to join them to one big avi. I tried avi joiner but its says the file format for all the files are different and could not join. although they are all avi files. Have any idea how to join avi files into one big avi file. there are total 13 avi files.

Listen to what the software is telling you. If 5 files are one resolution, 3 others are a different resolution, and the last 10 are another, joining is impossible. You'd need to convert them all to a common resolution. Differnt codecs used to make the files will also produce problems. Sound will also screw up joining I believe although I have not actually ever tried joining files with different sound properties.

Thanks. I got the solution.

I converted all of them to mpeg and then combine the mpeg files together. then converted into dvd format and then burned it.

I am not sure its going to work. So far what i have done is that I have made a one big mpeg file and currently I am trying to convert it into dvd format lets see if it works or not.

Just so you know AVI joiner is for like joining the same movie togather, or like what Jigen said' they have to be the same resolution etc.

I don't see no need to do this

Can't you just stick the AVI files Right in a DVD converter(vsotodivx or winavi)and convert them to DVD?

In my opinion,you can do that easy like this:
convert the files to dvd format,then burn it.That's all.Don't need so much work.And WinAVI v7.6 can merge files to one file,if you like you can try:http://www.winavi.com/avi-to-dvd.htm
