I just bought a Fliptop, and Swap Magic discs from gocybershopping. The problem is that the cds do not work. I don't know if I installed the fliptop right. It looks good and everything seems to fit into place. I installed the fliptop and screwed the PStwo back. I put the Swap Magic DVD and CD but none of it loads. I tried a normal game and it loaded perfect. While the Swap Magic cd was in I opened the top to see if it was still spinning. It spins for the PStwo menu screen and then when it tries to boot the Swap Magic a red laser in the PStwo goes up and down on the cd and then stops the cd. Can anyone help me? I am trying to get a game running on here :( By the way my PS2 is a slimeline.

V12 does need a laser fix, but most people only get them when they get a mod chip. But it is surely good to have one since they are only $10
Should have done your research first. Since to get the laser fix they have to open it, voiding your warranty anyway, you might as well just have a GOOD mod chip installed while their in there.
DMS4 Pro SE, Matrix Infinity, Crystal Chip V1.1
Summone & Comsoft V4 are two good laser fixes
I have also heard one called Neo-Fix
http://www.modchipman.com/neofix-xii-board-p-225.html?osCsid=12ff... http://www.modchipman.com/slim-fix-v4-comsoft-p-508.html?osCsid=%...
and just so you know i do not know anything about that website, it is just where the search took me. So you would have a starting point and know what you should be looking for.

No, u only need 1 of them. Also, the fliptop has nothing to do with a laser fix. If u dont get the laser fix, bt the sounds of ur experiences, u wont be able to play anything sooner or later.

are you just not able to read? read my post again SLOWLY so that you can understand it.
1. I said a V12 needs a laser fix
2. I said that most people get these when they install a mod chip, not that you needed one.
Try it on a friends PSTwo and see if the discs work, if they do then it is either that your laser needs cleaning or adjusting.
Or the fliptop is not installed quite right.
Since it plays your original games i would hope that would mean that the fliptop is on correctly.
Do you get any message, or just a blank screen when you try to load Swap Magic DVD?

I have been still searching.... If I have the fliptop correctly installed do I need to disable anything? I still have that red laser reading the Swap Magic disc. Maybe thats the problem.

No, once u install the fliptop, granted u install it correctly, thats all u need to do. And that "red laser" is supposed to read the disk, thats its job;)

Look at this tut, and put tape over the sensors as it instructs. After u do this, try SM again. If it works, then u just dont have the fliptop installed right. At that point, u can leave the tape over the sensors if u want or give the fliptop another try.
