Hey guys, you really really rock! All of you guys really invest a lot of time and knowledge into making this a great forum. When I wanna get something done and I can't do it myself, I come here. We all learn from each other; that's what I like. Anyway, I really wanna thank the ppl who have helped me through this DevHook 0.40 thing; it was really starting to piss me off, but I finally got Splinter Cell to work. (What a pain in the a$$!!) But I thank you ppl for putting up with me and my PMs. (svtstang is thinking, "Thank God!!!") Yea, but I got it done. A lot of you in here have helped me a lot and I know I have helped a lot of you, and to me... that's really cool.
Anyway, I put a post up earlier, but no response on Sega's OutRun Coast to Coast. If there is a way to get this working, I think I can find it. Now that I know how the new DevHook works, I can begin to apply different ideas/combinations of trying to get Coast to Coast to work. So I'm going to keep trying for us all with this. I know we all want to play this game really badly, and I wanna be the one that finds the way to get it to work. (Only b/c I'm an OK hacker and I think this would be a valuable contribution to the hacker/cracker/hombrew/sneaker/pimper scene for me to make.) So I've got the game (Coast to Coast) and I am going to try to get it working tomorrow (Tuesday) night. I was going to try tonight, but I didn't wanna push my luck. After I got Splinter Cell working, I was in such a great mood, I didn't wanna ruin it.
Well, that's it for now, guys. I will make a new post within the next day or so if I can get Coast to Coast working. Wish me luck. I am getting kinda tired of hacking all these ISOs.
Peace

I hope to God that you get Coast 2 Coast to work. That's been on one of my many games that I've wanted to play. Good luck and I'm behind you all the way.
If you need any help, holla. I'll try to contribute. I gotta download the ISO first. I mean ummmmm, go get money and buy the game.

I try man, I try.
Speaking of which,DVVL, what Devhook are you using and what mods or updates have you installed? I figured if you needed any help we could at least be on the same page as each other.

I took a UMD game that required a 2.00 update and copied the files using DevHook 0.40 (svtstang's recommendation). Then, I did the same for a 2.50 game. That was when I started to understand 2.00->2.50 - it uses a combination of both. I think the 2.00 Psar dump is to verify with the syscalls that the PSP is in fact a PSP that is @ 2.00 or above. I guess the second Psar dump is to verify the game can be played w/o an update. I don't know exactly, but that's a guess. Anyway, it worked like a champ. Thing is, all the ppl on here who got Splinter Cell working used the rip kit and everything was screwed up. I DIDN'T use the Rip kit. Kept the ISO at roughly 1.32GB. The first movie is really disturbing. I am going to try some more testing this weekend to see if Splinter Cell is CiSO compatible. That would be nice. BTW: Odd thing is I was playing Splinter Cell and everything was going great, but then I went to save and the save failed. I was like WTF and I cancelled. I moved out of the corner I was in b/c being a "part" of the graphics like that, I didn't know if that would mess my save up. So I went to save again and teh PSP froze and shut down. Huh. I think it's just b/c the PSP isn't an actual 2.50 so there will be 'hiccups' sometimes, I suppose.
All righty roo, it's like almost 2am here so I'm going to bed. I'll catch up with you guys tomorrow. And svtstang out there on the west coast: I know what that's like. I used to live in Washington. Lucky bastard. You're 3 hours behind East coast and you're loving it, I bet. DAMN, I wish I never left Washington.
Later, ppl.
