I am having trouble with Aquamarine and 8-below. DVDFab is taking too long to transfer to my HD. It seems to be hanging up. Is anybody else having trouble with these too? I am running DVDFab Decrypter version 2.9.7.9.

I get "Invalid data in file D:\DVD\VIDEO_TS\VTS_09_1.VOB" error on DVD Shrink v.3.2.

Brewgod23: I had the same msg with Underworld Evolution except the file was VTS_01_1.VOB. Not sure if my research is up to date or not but the disc was a Sony Movies product so their ArCoSS set up might be the problem. Found out that ArCoSS is a method of inserting bad sectors into the movie files so that the movie will play correctly in your DVD player but without the right software cannot be scanned correctly. Am trying to find updated software to counter this.

AnyDVD handles all the new stuff. Can either run it behind Shrink or use it with CloneDVD (also by the makers of AnyDVD - Slysoft).
AnyDVD and CloneDVD is the best combo imho out there. Also until 6/22 $5 off for each for Afterdawn members.

Another ripper that still updated & free is DVDFab Decrypter. You can rip with that than open the files in Shrink and process as usual.

Aquamarine has invalid vob's that shrink can't handle but DVDFab should. Don't know about 8 Below yet - won't have until next week.
Try cleaning off the discs.
Have you tried AnyDVD or DVD Decrypter?

Have had no problem using DVD Fab Decrypter v2.9.7.7, then DVD Shrink v3.2.0.15, then burning with Clone DVD2 v2.8.5.1 . Both Aquamarine and 8Below come out fine. Just have to let it take its time. And burn @ a slow rate (4x) for better quality.

Keep ripping and burnin.

yeah, make sure you have the latest version of dvdfab, though the dvds you mention are not the very latest releases. as standard procedure i run everything through VOB blanker after dvdfab and prior to shrink. not sure why fab would be "hanging up". another free alternative is ripit4me. i have had the experience of a dvd hanging up in fab and/or vobblanker, maybe a couple of times, and then it working fine. no reason for that to be the case, but it happened. go figure.
