Well, I got a v3 of PS2. And it got the Modbo 760.

The problem is their image on how to install differs from mine.. I think mine is NOGAP but their only shows GAP. I tried emailing them but they are chinese and pretty much told me they cant do anything about it unless they have my console so they can find the correct point.

here is the image picture of mine and in the corner their image and its a comparison... (note that everything except the R matches)

Anyone know what to do?

I also have a few questions.

1) Do all mod chips have same letters and they always mean same thing? If that is the case what does R stand for?

2) What if I try and go under that chip and solder the R? Can do I do it form the backside of the board?

3) Can you use GAP instructions and solder it the same way to the no-GAP version?

I tried looking on the web for a few days now for Modbo760 instructions on my board but no luck... This here shows it for my board http://www.ghost2.net/guide/G2_v3.jpg but thats a different chip... (thats why i was wondering if letters do same thing on all of them maybe I could use those instructions)...

4) What if I solder it and its wrong.. Will that kill the console? or can I undo it?

Any help appretiated =) Thank you

3. stomp foot on chip 3 times
4. place remains in trash can

that is an install picture for that chip in a V3.
I saw this same diagram on several different sites.
But here are all of them just in case
http://www.teammodders.com/install_diag.php?cat_id=47
see if any of those look right. it covers every version PS2
from V1 to V14

i think GAP and No GAP diagrams only have the BIOs connections different. Not too much of a difference though, you just have to locate the correct BIOS Chip.

'R' point is a BIOs point. QTUVR , MNOP , W are usually grouped together , more so for slim ps2s.

if u solder it wrong, it should quite obviously not work and its best to quickly turn it off and check the wires should anything happen.

you can also try diagrams from other chips if most of their diagrams match.
