i have mandrake 10.1 installed on my system my problem my burner doesnt
sshow up in dvd sshrink or in any other program running under wine
please help

Your burner won't show up until you have a disk in it and it is mounted. In UNIX/Linux, all removeable media must be mounted before you can access it.

Bring up a command window and make sure you are in the root file system ( cd / )

Make a mount point file system ( mkdir /CDROM )

put a disk in the DVD drive and mount it ( mount /CDROM /dev/cdrom (assuming /dev/cdrom is the device)) It's been a while since I did this, but that should work. For more info, in the command window, type "man mount" (without the quotes) to bring up the man page for the mount command.

If you did not install the man page package, you can Google the man page ( linux mount man page )
