I'm planning to buy a 120GB Maxtor HDD to put into my PS2.Besides using the HDLoader i downloaded from exploitstation.com,the HDD,what do i need to insert games into my PS2 HDD?I have read guides from this site and from the original but its way too confusing...the faqs at the original HDLoader website says that the HDLoader will copy the contents of my PS2 dvd/cd disc and dump it into the HDD whereas the guides here says i have to connect something to the usb port on my computer and do the transfering...i'm sorry if this is long-winded but please help me..thank you!

Uh... yeah you're really cofused lol
You can insert games to the HD using HDLoader itself, or a PC program called WinHIIP. With WinHIIP you can transfer games through your PC either from your DVD drive or from ISO files. Your HD has to be connected to the PC in order to use WinHIIP though, so you'd have to open your case and connect the HD to your PC every time you wanted to install a game with your PC.

If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you can possibly imagine.

What are you going to use to boot Hdloader?
A Memory Card Exploit? If so you need a way of installing the Exploit to your Memory Card (Swapmagic , Modchip etc)
and yes Winhiip would be the way to istall games to your Hard Drive.. You can do it through the PS2 but it's slow and can be bad for the laser...
I've also read that you can use a Hard Drive Enclosure and connect through USB to your comp and use Winhiip but I don't know how slow it would be for I haven't tried it ye myself...

It's actually pretty fast. I can use my Maxtor 160 gig drive with USB enclosure at 12-15MBps. Sure, IDE's faster, but I'm on a laptop setup and I have no option but this one.

I'll have to try it out.. Can be a little bit of a pain to take the HD out of the PS2 and then the comp apart to put a game on each time.. Usually I try to install directly from the PS2 but after a while I'm afriad it's going to affect the laser...
What would anyone suggest for a cheap HD enclosure?

Mine is a Compusa branded one. It's not even high quality. IT's made out of aluminum and cheap plastic. But it does the job! I got it for $15 bucks at the retail store. If you're going to use it for this kind of work, you probably won't need one with fans and stuff. Those are a bit pricier. Since you'll only be popping it in for a couple of minutes to put the games in, you only need one that actually works with the bare essentials. As long as it's USB 2.0 and it supports your hard drive size, it should do the trick. This one supports up to 400GB drives.

I can do up to 12MBps with WinHIIP, but that's because I'm using a laptop. You should probably squeeze a whole lot more using a desktop computer.

OK so.....how do i burn the cogswaploader?I think i've burn the MC Exploit on the disc properly from exploitstation.com using the Exploit2 tutorial. You have to put in the HDLoader7c in the FILES folder right? And hdloader7c or 7e allows 200GB hdd?

IF you have a modchip you shouldn't need CogSwap. You'd only need the launcher and HDLoader 0.7c. And YES! They both have 48 bit support. Your 200 gig drive should be recognized in its entirety.
