This has happened to some PS2 I came across with. Especially the PS2 version 9 and version 10. Suddenly the PS2 motherboard will not read the disc in the drive. But the drive is OK, because I have put the drive in another motherboard, and this same drive will read discs. This means there must be something wrong with the original motherboard. But what is it? And what needs to be fix? Thanks.

if it already happened, the romeo mod cant help it. the romeo mod prevents the bad things from happening. I had the same problem as the threadstarter before. I changed the LA chip, but to no avail. I think it is the cable to the motor that needs replacement, or somewhere there.
