Just ordered both a pc burner and a Ritek spindle of 25 4x dvd+r, and the media came first. The plastic cover of the spindle has no packaging on it, nor is there anything on the disks to indicate they're made by Ritek. One side of the discs is purple, which Ritek's disks are suppoed to be, but is there any other way to confirm these are Ritek short of putting them in my player and ID'ing them with a program, since my player hasn't arrived yet? Much thanks for any help.
As I said, my dvd burner hasn't arrived yet, so I can't use the ID program. I was hoping someone could help me with some kind of physical identification marks so I could know if the discs are legit or not, and if not, notify the company I bought them from.
There are numbers on most of the DVD disc's and each type have their own series like "A0000476893 " depending also whether the disc is -r +r -rw +rw .
Look at the inner center hub and you should find a number.
Also I believe that dvddecripter will tell you the number it extracts from their files menu.
Good Luck; by the way you do have a dvd rom don't you also ???
