What is booktyping? WHY should i do it? And what software should i use?
My dvd copies currently play on my dvd players, however they take a while to get going, they spin alot in the drive before they start to play, will booktyping solve this?

Booktyping (bitsetting) is a way of writing to a +R disc that tricks your standalone player is reading a DVD-ROM or commercial disc. To booktype you have to have a DVD burner that is capable of this function. Booktyping is recommended to increase compatability with standalone players. Nero will booktype automatically for you, you can set up DVD Decrypter and Imgburn to booktype your burns also if you drive is capable. If you have an NEC or Lite-On there are utilities that will set the booktype for you.
What brand and model number is your burner?
What brand and format DVD blanks are you using?
What programs are you using to make your backups?

Im using a Lite-on DVD RW SHM-165P6S
The Disks are Datawrite Titanium x8 DVD-R Printables
And im using Nero To burn them as i am copying from backups.
Hope u can help with the disk spinning problem. Once they get going they work perfect, just they seem to take forever to kick in.
I'm a proud owner of two liteon burners (1673 and 1635--I think. I forget the numbers lol). Anyway, part of the reason they're so great is because of the book typing abilities.
For whatever reasons, when I tried to do it through Decryptor, it wouldn't save the setting. But after I used the liteon specific utility to book type it, it worked without any problems.
Latest AnyDVD to rip > VOBB to blank the unwanted on a DVD > Shrink to compress > ImgBurn to burn = Never starting a thread asking how to backup a movie
