i just installed Nero Ultimate Edition 7 on my buddies comupter. We're DVDFabdecrypter then using Burning Rom to "Copy entire DVD"

I tried to backup "The Incredibles" (adics his kids have ruined many times before) then something more simple "Big Daddy" both times it re-coded then passed analysis...but when it got the the burning step it fails. here's the error log. Please help us figure this out someone. Does Ultra 7 have a security flag in it or something?

Well, I'm no expert, but here it goes anyway...

First of all, I'm not a fan of Nero Recode. I usually use DVD Rebuilder + CCE for my backups. Sometimes if I'm in a hurry, I'd use Shrink, which was made by the same guy who created Recode. One thing I've noticed is that Shrink gives me less problems than Recode. I don't know why.

Back to your problem. I see in the log that you are burning at 2X. It leads me to think one of two things:you are using Rewritable media or your burner is kinda old. Either way I think is not Nero related but Media related. If you are using RW media, chances are it's cheap CMC media. If not, maybe your Burner firmware is not up to date.

Update Firmware, change media and/or try another recording program.

If I always hear voices surrounding me, does it mean Im crazy or that I hear in Dolby 5.1?

Ummmm actually shrinks creator stopped updating it as he make the upgrades in recode.Recode goes on where shrink leaves off

the lines i found interesting were...the patches and the Illegal Key request... And as far as writing at 2x it sometimes improves the quality of the burn...but i'd caution against the use of "Burn at Once" or direct burn..it's usually better to save the new Video_TS to a HD and then burn from there.

That's sound advice.

This is what I could see on your log.
First is your Nero version. Nero made quite a few changes after the initial release of 7 and we eventually collectively decided that 7.0.8.2 was the most bug free version.

You can get it here:
http://www.filehippo.com/download_nero_7_premium/?845

Your burner's firmware is quite out of date. The newest is 2.1g

http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1719

You should edit out your Nero serial number:

By the way what is the brand of media you are using? The ID says RITEKF1 so I guess it's made by Ritek which is usually pretty good. It may be re-badged as Office Depot, Maxell or some other name.

Just a little somethin else.

everywhere i see people tellin others to change Nero versions they always say run this clean tool to get rid of old drivers before installing the new version.

http://ww2.nero.com/nero7/enu/Nero7_CleanTool.html

ya might wanna do that :)

I've been switching back and forth, trying different versions. I don't need the tool when I go from an older to a newer version but when installing an older version you have to run the tool. Otherwise you will not be able to install the older program.
It's a good idea to run the tool though.
When you run it, you have the option to save personal settings. This will preserve your serial number, among other things. Just make sure you have your Nero serial saved someplace before running the tool. Setting a restore point doesn't hurt either.
