well we really can't tell you that
you should look at the PS3 Vs XBOX360 thread and you will learn alot about the system
The PS3 will be cool because it uses a powerful new processor called the cell which has 1 3.2ghz powerpc processor at its core and 7spe's that each have a speed of 3.2 ghz that do mathi and graphic calculations
the cell is basically a super computer on a chip
the ps3 will also have a new graphics core called the RSX, the rsx is a 550 mhz grahics chip made by nvidia which is currently more powerful than anything on the market, and also the ps3 has 256mb of gddr3 ram which operates at 700mhz and 256mb of new XDR RAM which operates at 3.2ghz(Most powerful ram available)
bluray is a next generation cd based medium which uses a blue laser to read data on a cd instead of a red one
the blue laser and read better because of its wavelenths which allow it to store data more efficiently, this allows blu ray discs to hold up to 25gb on a single layer and 50gb on a dual layer currently and possibly 100 in the future
it willbe able to run linux
it will have integrated a/b/g/n wifi in the 600 dollar yunit
card slots in the 600 dollar unit
and many other features
20gb ard drive in the $500unit and 60gb hard drive in the $600 unit
the controllers will also be gyrocopic, composed of new shapeshifting plastics(don't tell your girlfriend)
but the most important thing is linux, if the linux bundled with the ps3 is open source, then we hackers will be able to truly HAVE FUN
linux will allow us to run anything on the ps3, even windows xp and other games from current gen consoles like dreamcast, unless sony involves that god damn drm with linux (in which we would be totally FUCKED)
the only downside to the ps3 is that it will have a starting price of 500 dollars, but there will be another unit available which is 600 dollars
and the PS3 will be a bluray player
so don't buy your next dvd player which will be a bluray player for 500 dollars like i did
