I've been using dvd shrink for a couple months now with no problems until yesterday. I burned a movie and everything worked fine until I tried to burn another after that. After it did the analysis and I tried to compression certain areas of the movie, it would freeze every time I'd switch from the extras to the main movie or to the menu. This happens in both the drives I have and even after I deleted and reinstalled it. Then I tried using DVD Decrypter and opening the file though DVD Shrink (assuming it was just having an error reading it) and it would not load claiming: "Invalid Data in File C: yada yada yada). This has happened with any dvd I have since put in and can not seem to figure out what the problem would be. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Here's what I suggest:

1. Rip it to Hard Disk using DVDFab Decrypter (http://www.dvdidle.com/free.htm)
2. Process through VobBlanker (http://jsoto.posunplugged.com/vobblanker.htm)
3. Re-author with DVD Shrink (http://www.mrbass.org/dvdshrink/dvdshrink32setup.zip)
4. Burn with ImgBurn (http://www.imgburn.com)

This is the best Free way to back up your DVD's. Many users here prefer AnyDVD/CloneDVD (http://www.slysoft.com/en/), as there are fewer steps involved in making a copy. There is an upfront cost involved, but there is lifetime support and the software is updated regularly. Personally, I don't mind the extra effort and would rather use the free tools.
