I want to play Japanese IIDX games on my PS2. Where do I start?

I heard that matrix infinity (green dot) chips are the best way to go. But can you install them in a slim PS2? Which one should I buy? http://www.infinitymod.com/cgi-bin/matrix/site.pl?page=products

Where can I find what version PS2 I have?

Yes matrix infinity will work on a slim PS2.

Matrix Infinity green dot would be a good choice.
DMS4 Pro would be another one. I suggest that you find a reputable site like Teammodders or Trustedmods. Get the chip and send it and your PS2 to them to be installed.
Unless you are REALLY good at soldering i do not suggest you attempt this install yourself.
