Hey DamonDash
It's very easy - just change your setting on the title configuration screen to 'DVD +/-R DL'.
No compression will be needed.

I only use verbs for dual layer. For single layer I use Taiyo Yuden mainly and some Verbs in both formats (-/+). Alot of -R's cause the printable ones are much cheaper :)
LiteOn is a great drive imho - I have an older one (internal) that's still going strong!

They say that because the -R DL discs are so new, and still have issues. Not all DL burners will burn them either. Plus they are kinda hard to find.

If you'll stick with the Verbatim +R DL discs, for awhile, they'll work the bugs out of the -R discs and burners, and then you should be ok.
Good luck!

See here for guides, and software for burning DL discs. As binkie7 said....... it's real easy.

JVC said it all & is right on the $ !

Booktype those dl +r's to dvd-rom also. Your LiteOn will be able to do this. Some players may not like dl discs so to increase the compatability booktyping helps.

Amen to that.

I also have a liteon. Booktyping is the greatest thing.

Easy explanation - booktyping to dvd-rom makes a +r disc appear to be a dvd-rom to the player. This makes the disc almost universally compatible with players.
As long as the burner supports this option - which LiteOn does - you can just change a setting in some of the different burning apps like Nero & Decrypter. Or use the booktype utility for LiteOn.
Here's an article for more info:

This goes along with this thread

http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/355604

The HP640c comes with an installation disk, that has an automatic bitset utility included in the package and when installed will load at startup and bitset your disk automatically with no further program needed.
