I don't know if this has been asked before or anything but I was just wondering if there is an easier way to put movies and shows and stuff on a camcorder.

I just bought a new canon ZR500 and when I was fooling around with iMovie I found that I could export the movie I was editing back to the camcorder. After a while I ended up transferring a few Family Guy episodes to it just to experiment. It works fine except that when I import the show to iMovie it takes a really long time. So my question is, is there a better way to do this?

Right now I'm on a mac mini but I have access to windows machines if it comes to that

Again, sorry if this is a stupid question.
