I need help! I'm trying to put some DVD's on to my portable hard drive so I can was them else where. What program do I need to use to convert my movies to to be able to watch them using Media player 9? It's the only player my job allows on its computers. Any and all help would be appreciated. I have downloaded and tried DVDfab decrypter but it put the files in some kind of folders and I don't know what to do with them. I am in the process of using DVDshrink right now about an hour to go...hopefully it turns out better for me. Thanks in advance

backup up with shrink in the ISO mode if that will not play in windows media player then they will play in the file mode

If you use dvd fab it will rip the disc to file mode when you open the file you will see the various files they will be marked IFO BUP and VOB the VOB is the video Shrink will convert files to a ISO image File

Thanks, but the problem is I can't install any software on my work pc. I have to be able to play them using Windows media 9 because that is what is already installed on my work pc.

DL the VLC program at home and add it to the HD and then transfer that program to the work pc. If you can only have WMP 9 on thework pc then use shrink, recode 2, CloneDVD 2 and almost any othe rprog. to transfer the movies to video ts folders and place them on your hd.

You may not be able to play your files on your work pc. You may have WMP but if their that stingent with not being able to load anything your player most likely won't have the proper codecs to play the file.
