I didn't think it would work when I tried to burn a dual layerd disk movie on to a regular disk. And I used a cheap Imation disk too.
And I also thought you needed a special dvd-rom drive to burn dual layerd movies,and dual layerd media. Whats up with that?

It will, if you compress it enough first (DVD Shrink, CloneDVD).

Naughty boy..........use only quality media (Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim).

You don't use a DVD Rom drive to burn. You use a DVD burner. And it must support double layer burning, which most, if not all, of the new ones do. And again, use quality media (Verbatim DVD +R DL).

@DamonDash

That caught my eye too. I'm hoping they were just talking about DL DVD-R in general like CD-R and not the + - variety.

garmoon - atleast the Benq users will be able to burn the Taiyo DVD-R DL albeit @ 4X when they ship assuming they are compatible ! But being a Frugal ( Read Cheapskate!!!) kind of Vidiot I still have'nt bought any DVD+R DL's $2.00 & up is still pricey when you can get SL media priced on sale from .16 to .50 cents ea. in bulk /spindles . But hey I'm Glad yo hear Taiyo's Joining the fray in the DL arena - With Verbatim 's major competeion making DL media of any stripe perhaps the Verbatim Dl's will drop in price ? & as long as the DL Taiyo's are just as good as their SL disc It's something to look forward to . Thanx for the info garmoon & happy Burning!

@BIGTOXY69

Yeah I got the BenQ 1650 and it loves Verb DL but hates Fuji DL. I've got an LG DL burner and it will burn the Fuji DLs. I just bought a stack of 20 Verb DLs for $40. That's still too damn expensive and I rarely ever use them. But I'm with you I burn 95% 5GB Sony MIJ TYs. The end product (movie only) is excellent quality too.

garmoon- Yeah I have'nt tried any DL media at all yet but will probably stick with the verbatims when i do (Eventually) The cost is the big factor ! I remember the First CDR's I actually saw ( not bought) a 100 ct . spindle was $100.00 now you could buy them for like $8.00-$10.00 on sale ! and remember those Cdr's imtended for (Music only) For standalone CD-Recorders - $5.00ea. when you could get them & you had to order them! Dl Disc will probably not come down to the prices Sl media has dropped to now ! simply because it's more complex & difficult to make Properly ! So they have a higher failure rate when manufacturing them.So that there are less to sell ( Just the Good ones that did'nt come out deffective)But maybe over time they may drop to the $ 1.00- .80cents range which is still cheaper Than current prices!& with Blu-ray & HD DVD to compete with once they take off perhaps a few cents more will drop off too ! Good luck with the Benq & Liteon & Happy Burning!
