Ive got a Toshiba USB 2.0 Portable HDD ,I wanted to know that can the HDD be used with my PS2? if it can be used what additional software would i require to ge it running on my PS2,hot will i install my hame backups on it and how will i run them ? + any useful information u can tell me !

Unfortunately the list is nowhere near as complete as the one for an internal HDD, and just because it's not there doesn't mean it won't work.

You'll need USBeXtreme/USBAdvance to play games (depending on if you have a way to load backups or not) have a look here for more info: http://www.hdadvance.com/usb_extreme_whatis.htm

And Yes, your Toshiba drive will probably work on the PS2. The Compatibility is nasty though for USBXtreme/USBAdvance :(

To instal the games to it, you must first format it with the USBXtreme formatting software, and you can later use USBInsane in order to install ISOS, or the USBXtreme software to install from your Disc drive! I do not recommend USBInsane as the software is still in beta stage and it can easilly corrupt your game list. SO, stick with the USBXtreme software which is much more reliable (but way slower), and use drive emulation software (Daemon Tools, Alcohol 120%, etc) to instal ISOS with it.

Doesnt the usbextreme makes the isos and transfers them or it just transfres isos and does USBExtreme require a cd to boot?
or it will load itself from the HDD when it is connected the usb port of ps2 ? ive downloaded the windows client of the usbextreme conversion software is it all enough to get going!

You need to buy USBeXtreme, unless you have a modchip/swap magic, in that case you can get USBAdvance and burn it to a CD

No worries. Just be warned that the compatibility isn't great compared to a HDD connected via a network adaptor (this only works on the older PS2 and not the slim ones)

Can i write the image of USBAdvance to a DVD rater than cdr ,because my ps2 chokes when it comes to CDrs,will the dvd thing work
