Anyone able to get cars running? I found the ppf patch on ps2nfo.com but not quite sure which emulator to use to run the iso???

Awesome! Is the game fun? I was thinking about getting it? Btw, did you use the rip kit? It brings the game down to about 180MB!!!

The game is kinda fun, I'm a little dissapointed though as I loved the movie, either way I think I'll pick up the umd as I want to see the movies in the extras... And no I didnt use the rip kit.. I'll have to look for that one. The one I have is 864mb, I'm always skeptical bout the ripkits.. as the file size is so tiny - dont you think they are comprimisin the quality???

no, they're not compromising the quality in the CARS rip kit b/c I read somewhere the movies won't play in it either way - w/ or w/o the rip kit. Too bad. :(
Rip kits are good most of the time. The only really bad one I can remember is the one for Splinter Cell. Other than that, you don't really wanna use rip kits unless you've beaten the game or if you don't like the music. I have a copy of Ridge Racer for which I found a rip kit which ripped out all the music. The file was around 700MB b4 I used the rip kit and now I got it down to like 180MB w/ music and other things ripped. (Like the opening movie w/ Reiko Nagase) That's a good thing too, b/c I absolutely HATED the music from Ridge Racer. The game is so much better now.

Good to know that the quality remains intact, in atleast most of them I'll have to try the ridge racer ripkit, I love the game but I really dont like the music either and if I ever start missing the music I guess I'll just pop in my umd ;-)

Good enough. Try it. The reason I like it (and I've said this a thousand times LOL) is b/c I really like ambience in games. I like the fact that all you hear in Ridge Racer is the sound of the car and the wind and the screeching of tires. Hell, that's all you'd hear in real life anyway, right? I understand music in NFS Most Wanted b/c that's YOUR car. But most likely any professional race car like in Ridge Racer wouldn't have a radio in it anyway b/c tuned cars are all about intense weight reduction. A radio would only make the car weigh more. Plus, if you were racing in those races, the car would probably belong to your sponsor anyway. IDK.

Dude, don't [ quote ] me on that. It could be like 179MB. Then I'll get flamed b/c you thot I was giving actual figures. LOL JK. But I know for a fact it's under 1GB. It's also under 199MB. I know it's in the 1xx somewhere. You guys should bookmark ps2nfo. They rock. They always have the best rip kits.

MAXCONSOLE and ps2nfo have newer rip kits and patches. Most of the links to the sites I gave here are to older games, so all the bugs have been worked out and they work perfectly. Plus, w/ older games, there weren't as many complications.
Am I the only one that has trouble typing the word "newer"? I typo it EVERYTIME.

Most ripkits patch the game for (i.e. prxs). Remember i said most, so dont be mad if using the ripkit by itself does not work.

Ok the ripkits are now making sense to me, of course more reading always helps... damn those sites have loads of info. So the only real advantage at this point is jammin as many games on the ms... I see maybe I'll try some...

aight. I am dying to play GT Mobile!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I will be playing that game until the battery runs dead and once it runs dead, I'll sit against the wall while my PSP is plugged in and I'll only shut it off when my PSP is glowing b/c it's so hot. ISO? I don't think it will happen. EVER. Actually wait- that's right- The MOD CHIP!!
