i just bought one and the box says a05 but the unit says 105
also what is the best media for movies im having trouble with cheap media during playback on stand alone player

A05 is the retail version (which you have) which just includes the extra software. Otherwise there is no difference at all. For a review of the best media to use check out the DVD media forum above.
